Guess Who’s Back?! Not Slim Shaddy…

So this blog first started as a means to chart my progress is fashion and modeling… However, after taking a lengthy hiatus, my priorities have changed. I started working for All Saints over this past summer- more will come from that- and being so busy with school and work, modeling has gone to the back burner. I decided that I will pursue hardcore when I am able to move to NYC full time. Also, I’m in Sydney, Australia.

Slash— Read my first published article!

Also check out some awesome photography and some of my newest pictures @ Meyer Inspired!

Sydney is amazing. This city is beautiful and way bigger and metropolitan than I thought. Not having to go through a Boston this winter this year is a definite positive in being here as well. The flight here was miserable. I had to fly Tampa NYCLASydney. I was so tired after but being here is surreal. Today was the first moment that I realized where I was. After a day of a scavenger hunt through the city, seeing a ton of amazing sights. Being at Bondi Beach was too great. Pictures to come soon!
I am going to keep this blog as a means to keep people posted on my experiences here in Sydney AND… Sydney fashion is pretty sick. I see so much awesome-ness that I need to share with my fellow Americans and others!
I wrote that first part when I first got to Sydney—- camera broke so that has hindered my ability to post some of Sydney street looks. Yet, I find myself still coming back here and trying to figure what the hell I am going to write about. This past month has been filled with drag kings and queens, launch of Mardi Gras- the Gay and Lesbian parade, a wonderful trip to Melbourne, lots of beach action, and TONS of food!
My favorite part of Melbourne, besides the sick hotel- Mantra at the Bay, was the bar culture. It was very similar to the underground bar scene in New York, the one that comes to mind is Cabin Below in New York. There a lot of lane ways in Melbourne that might seem to lead to nowhere, but not until you go down one that you discover little cafes and bars that only lone stragglers or the in-the-know Melbs would know about.
One day at Coogee beach, exploring the rocky shore with Laura (the Wife) and Car, we found ourselves against the crashing waves at the edge of a low rock cliff. I thought it would be a good idea to go to the very edge and sit down, but of course, as soon as I sit, a huge wave knocks me over and I get thrown across the barnacle covered rocks that hurt just to walk on. I got cut all over my hands and legs and a huge cut on my knee. IT WAS AWESOME.
I have gone to a couple of music events in Sydney- Big Day Out and Kaskade. Pictures to follow.

Also, if you have never heard of Trop Fest it is AWESOME! It is the largest short film festival in the world! Google it 🙂

This past weekend was Mardi Gras as well! It is the Gay Lesbian Parade in Sydney and I got to be in it! It was so much fun! Best thing I have done in Australia for sure 🙂

Also- I know this is a tad late but better late than never! right? –> NYC Fashion Week- My favorites

Burberry Prorsum- This collection was beautiful. I feel like it strayed a little from its typical look, but in a VERY good way. I loved the blending of colors that fused classing fall colors with subtle hints into the winter scene. The collection definitely had a story to tell and there will most surely be a happy-ending. Take a look at some of the photos below and let me know what you think!

Douglas Hannant- I just love collections that are inspired by the flapper. He takes this iconic image of a woman, makes her sexier, more chic, and definitely fashion forward.

Marc by Marc Jacobs- The first thing I thought of when I saw this collection was The Lovely Bones. I love it! I love the color palate of this line the most. I can’t wait to see his influence on the streets come fall!

RAD by Rad Hourani- If I had to pick a collection to wear until the next NYC Fashion Week (or for the rest of my life), it would be this one. This take on fall is definitely a lot darker, which I love. There are so many angles and it is so dramatic I could die! I’m obsessed. Also, I want to note the androgynous models, another theme seen on the runway this season. I don’t know if I’m more obsessed with the models or the clothes!

The Row- speechless.

Robert Geller- If I had to choose a collection for the entirety of the male population to where this fall. It would be this. Omfg.

Christian Siriano- Always amazing. Love the classic pieces. Love the edginess. Love him.

Wayne- Looks like Marilyn Manson and Kelly Cutrone made love on an orange farm. Good or bad? Check below!

Wes Gordon- As a collection- eh. There were some pieces I loved and some I threw up on.

Richard Chai- Loved. One thing was missing though and not quite sure what. Maybe a little more color?
Some collections to look at: Matthew Williamson, Simon Spurr, Jason Wu, Duckie Brown.
Were there any collections you loved or hated! Comment and let me know!
Came by this on accident, and so glad it happened. From London Fashion week

David Koma- Love- edgy, but hot. Very funky and definitely not your typical fall collection.

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out the blog! I want to start off by thanking some people for posting comments on the previous entry… Kayvon, Blaire, Lindsey, Claudia, Katie, Dennifer, Desiree, Roneil, Sir Pent

Keep it up guys!

So the trailer for Sex and the City 2 came out not to long ago. I see the scene that I did, lets just hope I’m in it. If not, I have already seen some of the amazing new people I met on set, Congrats guys!… Here is the link!

Saw Avatar today… so good. I wanna be one!

Now, here are some of my favorite looks from the past week from…

Here is the first look –>

Now, here are a few looks from a couple Paris shows for Fall 2010… definitely notice if there are similarities from these shows to the fast approaching NYC fashion week which starts the second week of February… sorry for the links… they wont let me save the pictures from the website…

As I mentioned in the last blog, I ate a bit too much on NYE. But hopefully I can fix that with the help of recording everything, or most of it, I eat on here… I decided that on 1/2/2010 I am going to do a 48 hour detox to cleanse my body and during the two days only eat fruits and veggies. Its a great way to rid your body of toxins, shed a few pounds and start from scratch. For me anyways, it tends to help the frequent cravings I get for sweet or processed foods.

Lowfat vanilla yogurt with frozen blueberries

Honey Oat nature valley bar

*** I am not ano, but legit am still full form everything I ate last night, including the 3 slices of pizza I ate after midnight- starting off the new year right!

Protein Shake (water based)- about an hour after my workout

Dinner- small- a bit of turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, corn, stuffing- sounds like a lot, but didnt have much of any

then my weakness… I had some bomb apple pie and a mini scoop of vanilla ice cream

slice of pizza at like 330am— reoccurring trend?

Hot chocolate and blueberries

Protein shake

small fry from chick-fil-a

Frozen pink lemonade, some peanut m&ms and like 4 twizzlers

vanilla yogurt and blueberries, peanut butter granola bar

egg whites scrambled with two pieces toast

*”*I started my 48 detox diet today… so nothing but this juice stuff from GNC and fruits and veggies for two days… wish me luck!!

Today was a light workout. I seemed to not have much energy, probably because I haven’t eaten much today. I only did a 15 minute warm up run then a circuit workout and some ab exercises.

60 minutes on stair master and ab exercises was my plan but I get to the gym at 730 and then I hear announcement… Gym will be closing in 30 minutes… really? So I only did 25 minutes of cardio… its ok though cause I’m a bit burnt out

The Happenings

So this summer, I am going to live in Manhattan. Hopefully I can sign with an agency, hopefully DNA, and book some jobs. But regardless, I saved enough money to live from May through August in the city. Not gonna lie, its gonna be sick so if you are able to, come visit and stay with me. I have already been searching for places to live. It has been an interesting process to say the least.

The other night, I was emailing so many people, via craigslist ads, about apartments. I got a reply back from one particular lady who I did not remember emailing but saw that she was offering an apartment for 650 a month, utilities included and furnished. the pictures she sent were beautiful. The apartment is in Greenwich Village, a high rise, doorman, gym= perfect. But too perfect?

So I explained to the woman that I was extremely interested, but could not move in until May and that the apartment was probably going to be no longer available by then. But I guess I made an impression on her and her husband (who I talked to on the phone and clarified their motives. They were relocated to the UK for at least 8 years, but recently bought the apartment and did not want to sell it. They were not concerned about money but just wanted someone to look after the apartment. Sounds good to me! But again… too perfect?

So I was talking to my aunt Blaire, who has experience in all this stuff and she thought it was fishy, so she began trying to find information on these people. Meanwhile, I told them that in order to ensure I could have the apartment, that I would look after it from Jan- to May, meaning I would go twice a month and care for it and what not and not pay rent until I actually moved in. They agreed. So they asked for money to cover the costs of sending the keys and other information (access codes and lease information). While this all sounds good, it was small things that made me nervous. For instance, I am only 19, and most people would not just give a 19 year old an apartment that normal rent is about 6ooo a month. Also they would avoid certain questions such as the unit number and their business’s name. While they did send a copy of the man’s Driver’s license, registered to NJ… there were some articles about a older couple, near the name age, who were charged with fraud and embezzlement… SKETCHY… at that point I decided this was too weird.

But good news is, found another apartment in Gramercy, cheap, nice, but same sort of situation. could possibly be to perfect. But if there is any lesson I learned from watching The City, and specifically Olivia, never sign for the first apartment you see… So the fraud one was the first, right? So this one in Gramercy, should work out… lets hope!

In other news, Friday night was interesting. My friend James ordered me to go out with him and some of his friends in town. I did. We went to Ybor city, and for all you Tampons, you are familiar with Ybor, non-Tampons, you are not. It is the main club, bar area but also known for sketchiness. We went to a place called Czar. First time going. very different than places I have every been. (Estate- Boston, The Gates, Hudson Terrace, Veranda, La Pomme, Tenjune, 1oak, etc- NYC) Very different scene but I thought it was fun-ny. So I decided to dance on the booth/ table and have a good time. Pictures were taken but they are not up yet so those will be posted soon…
