Diet

2/18/10- Egg white omelet with one piece of toast and peanut butter. Salad, fruit, many cookies, ice cream. Chips and salsa. Half Upper crust pizza.

2/19/10- Two pieces of toast with peanut butter and honey. One piece of Ezekiel bread and a oats and honey granola bar. Protein shake, Fruit bowl, Vanilla light and fit yogurt, Odwalla protein bar. Two veggie sandwiches, piece of salmon, ice cream.

2/20/10- Bagel with cream cheese, egg white omelet with mushrooms and onions, piece of peanut butter toast with honey. Honey and Oat granola bar. Protein shake fruit. Piece of cinnamon raison bread with honey and peanut butter granola bar. Non fat latte and some trail mix. Granola bar. Bag of Doritos and Shrimp Pad Thai. A couple chewy bars.

2/21/10- Three pieces of toasted Ezekiel Bread with peanut butter and honey. Banana. Veggie Sandwich, two small blueberry muffin tops, some eggs, part of a bagel and bowl of fruit cheerios. Cookie and pineapple. Veggie pita, some nut mix and non fat latte.

2/22/10- Two pieces of Ezekiel Bread with peanut butter and honey. Blueberry bagel and reduced fat cream cheese. 4 mini cliff bars. Two servings of salad with green peppers, mushrooms, onions. One piece of whole wheat toast with hummus.

2/23/10- oatmeal mixed with protein powder and brown sugar. Protein shake. Veggie sandwich, some pita chips with salsa and guac. Banana, granola and yogurt. Half waffle with strawberries and whip. Salad with feta, green peppers, and mushrooms. Fries and latkes with applesauce. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ice cream.

2/24/10- Salad, 2 cookies, black bean and corn chili, piece of peanut butter toast.

Exercise

2/18/10- hahaha I don’t remember!!

2/19/10- 8 mile run in 53.30 minutes

2/20/10- Day O’ Volleyball

2/21/10- Volleyball game and light upper body lift.

2/22/10- 30 minutes on Stairmaster, 10 minutes rowing, abs.

2/23/10- 20 minute bike ride. 3 times- 10 Push-up, one harm row combo, superset with 20 box jumps, superset with 20 ball crunches. 20 Cross-step box step knee raise, shoulder press combo x 2. 7 sprints to make a mile.

2/24/10- 45 minutes on the machine 10 minute sprint jog interval on treadmill, abs.

The Happenings

First thing first… Back Bay Ball is this Saturday… I need a date… who’s up for it?

This past weekend was busy and tiring. I went to the collegesumo.com launch party at Wonderbar on Thursday night, and I had an exam on Friday. I worked two shifts on Friday, as usual, and had a killer 8 mile run. Friday night I went to Foundation with Kelly, Gina, Robin and Mike. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed a nice glass of champagne and danced with everyone haha. Saturday I had a volleyball tournament which was a lot of fun but so tiring and we got 3rd! Saturday night I hung out with Erica, and company and it was nice to just chill and hang out. Sunday I hung out with my sibling, Kevin. We watched some of the basketball tournament that as going on at Fitrec and we played some basketball ourselves. I hadn’t even touched a basketball in probably over a year… woops! Then we went and ate at the West Campus dining hall then went to BU central and played some video games.

Watch out Facebook!

So my phone is on the fritz… and so I want to get a new one and I am begging my sister to let me get a blackberry, but she doesn’t want me to for some reason?!?! I would be paying for the phone and the extra cost so I don’t know what’s wrong… having a Smartphone is especially important for my summer, when I hopefully am signed with an agency and access to email at anytime is a necessity. What do you guys think?

I have mentioned to a few people, but I have a surprise for next week! But you have to wait and see, but let’s just say there is going to be a drastic change!

I have a casting on Friday, in Canton, MA. AKA I have to take the commuter rail and take off one of my shifts at work on Friday… so I better book the job. The casting is for an athletic apparel company to do some showroom stuff in March.

Here is your Entertainment Update with Jordan Diaz! What do you guys think of the updates? Do you like them? Do you not? Do you want to see more of something in particular?

Fashion Week! As it comes to an end, I posted some of my favorite looks below! Also, if you recall my slight rant about Luis- DNA model who sort of looks like me, he is pictured below in the Y-3 show. I like the looks for this year’s Fall/Winter… do you?

Diet

2/11/10- blueberries, granola, Greek yogurt and strawberries. Non-fat latte. Half veggie burger fruit and fries. Cool ranch Doritos, peanut MMs grapes, fried rice and vegan nuggets. Veggie sandwich, ice cream. Blueberries, granola, yogurt and strawberries.

2/12/10-scambeled eggs with onions and mushrooms. Less than half bagel with cream cheese. Fruit smoothie. Non-fate latte, fruit cup, 3 oatmeal cookies, fruit granola and yogurt. Veggie pita. Fries ice cream and veggie sandwich.

2/13/10- scrambled eggs, waffle, half bagel. Veggie sandwich. Granola, Greek yogurt and blueberries.

2/14/10- scrambled egg whites with onions, mushrooms, and spinach. Protein shake. Veggie sandwich, fruit. A WHOLE BAG OF TORTILLA CHIPS AND GUAC. 4 chocolate chip cookies.

2/15/10- veggie sandwich and fruit. Protein shake. Protein bar, fruit smoothie. Veggie sandwich, cantaloupe and melon. Oats and honey granola bar. One piece of Ezekiel cinnamon raison bread. Nutri-grain bar.

2/16/10- scrambled egg whites with mushrooms. Smoothies. Whole wheat bread and peanut butter. Pretzels. Protein shake. Med. Veggie sandwich, potato chips and chocolate chip cookie for Panera. 2/14/10- 40 minutes bike and 10 minute row. Abs

2/15/10- 8 mile run in 54 minutes.

2/16/10- 30 minute bike ride. Upper body lift. Abs.

2/17/10- 15 minute warm up run. Squat thrust medicine ball swing combo. Box jumps. 1 mile sprint interval. Abs.

The Happenings

I have been really boring this week. The weekend was fun but super chill. I just hung out with friends. A lot of people were out of town for the long weekend.

I am still trying to find a place for the summer, but I haven’t been looking that hard lately.

Your Entertainment update for the week courtesy of Jordan Diaz!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week starts today in New York City and next week I will have some highlights of shows! With fashion week, a lot of the agencies put up pictures of the men and women they will have in shows. I was on DNA’s website looking at the models they will have and then I found Luis. Thank you Luis, you are probably the reason I will not have the chance to sign with DNA. Should have dropped out and moved to Manhattan when they offered!

Jarrod is a friend that I met last summer when I worked the opening week of Epic Hollister in Soho in Manhattan. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, no big deal, and is signed with Red Models in New York. I recently emailed Jarrod about preparing for Fashion Week.

What, if anything, do you do different to prepare for fashion week castings and shows themselves? I don’t do much differently for fashion week castings – maybe just a little more concerned about what I’m wearing (look taller, leaner, more fashionable, skinnier jeans, etc.) but because of the hectic schedule it’s good to make sure you’re getting enough rest/sleep, and enough water. Coffee is a life-saver for the 2-3 weeks haha

What is the typical process you go through for a casting for fashion week? Typical process is sign-in, hand over book/show cards, take a Polaroid or 2 (amount of clothing for this varies, I’ve had to go all the way down to my briefs haha), and walk. A good sign is if they make you try on their clothes for fit and/or walk again in their clothes…

How did you feel walking in your first show? My first show was cool… I wasn’t worried about falling or anything like that, I was just excited to get out there and give ‘em the eyes haha jk
Best part of fashion week? Best part is being busy – awesome castings, meeting designers, getting your face out there more, and enjoying a drink after the show =D
How are the after parties? After-parties are awesome… good time to network and unwind; that is, if you can before your next casting/show.
Most memorable moment? Most memorable moment was walking down the runway for Sean john with P. Diddy at the end judging us. Despite being nervous it was exciting to meet him, and he was so nice and having just as much fun as we were.

What, in your opinion, is the key to booking a job for fashion week? Key to booking a job: confidence. Go to castings with it. Walk with it. Talk with it. For some guys confidence is in the eyes, others in a smile, others in a book full of great work… fashion week can turn stressful very quickly, but it’s important to keep your head up and keep going.
Did you book any shows? If so, which? Did I book shows? Let’s wait and see… 😉

2/5/2010- Egg white omelet and fruit. Smoothie. Two servings of shrimp and scallops with onions, chives and mushrooms with rice and three soft sheel tacos. Salad and Edamame. Hot fudge sundae with vanilla gelato and half a peanut butter cookie.

2/6/2010- peanut butter toast, fruit and smoothie. 2non-fat latte. Two veggie sandwiches with fries and ice cream. two pieces of cheese pizza.

2/7/2010- Scrambled eggs, smoothie. Non fat Latte. Veggie sandwich, fries and ice cream.

2/8/2010- Oatmeal. Nutrigrain bar, berries Odwalla bar. Pesto, tomato and mozzarella sandwich, chocolate chip cookie. 3 pieces of mini Twix candies.

2/9/2010- Two pieces of peanut butter toast. Fruit smoothie. Veggie sandwich. Peanut MMs, cinnamon nature valley bar. Veggie sandwich, salad, banana and bowl of Kashi granola cereal. Strawberries, blueberries, granola and Greek yogurt.

2/10/2010-Tater tots and raisin bran cereal. Peanut MMs. Greek yogurt and blueberries. Non-fat hazelnut latte. strawberries and more Peanut MMs. Veggie sandwich. fries, ice cream. Some Kashi cereal, blueberries, MMs. Curly fries, fruit smoothie and like 3/4s of a HUGE bag of cool ranch Doritos. KILL ME. 🙂

Exercise

2/4/2010- 30 min- 4 mile run. Mountain climbs. Box leg raises, dumbbell shoulder press combo. Chest pull ups. Abs.

2/5/2010- 30 minute run and knee lifts should press combo. Mountain climbs. Abs.

2/6/2010- 30 minutes cardio and abs.

2/7/2010- 30 minute run and circuit work out. Abs.

2/8/2010- 20 minute bike and abs.

2/9/2010- 15 minute warm up- incline and speed interval. 2 x 15 squat thrusts and military press combo. 3 x 20 box jumps. 2 x 30 seconds mountain climbs. Abs.

2/10/2010- 15 minutes on bike. Abs- Recovery day.

The Happenings

I would like to say that as of now, I am not looking forward to Valentine ’s Day that is on Sunday. Once again, I am alone… unless I get a date in the next 72 hours… any takers?

Also, my Aunt Blaire sent me a huge bag of Peanut M&Ms, which I love, so you will seeing a lot of those in the diet section…

I went to a couple of “eventful” parties, to say the least, last weekend. I got to hang out with people that I haven’t really seen in a while. Friday was my friend Mike’s birthday. He, John and I went to Fire and Ice, it’s like a Mongolian BBQ. It’s so good and all you can eat for $17. After dinner, we went to Finale. To say that it was amazing was an understatement. I got a hot fudge sundae, made with vanilla gelato. It had brownie bites and hot fudge. So Good. I also got a peanut butter cookie but I was so full I only ate half. I also had a nice glass of wine! After I recovered from my food coma, Mike and I went to a Disney Party where I dressed up as Jett Jackson…Google him if you don’t know, or remember, who he is. It was great night!

Monday, I had a shoot with Bob Packert. I have wanted to work him for a while now, and was so happy to finally have the opportunity. It was a great shoot. I shot with 4 other models, Tessa, Sam, Meg and Kacy, who I have work with before aka the pregnancy pictures on my Facebook. While shooting pictures, a film was being shot. It was a combo of the holiday Victoria Secret commercial and the videos on the Hollister website. We got champagne, cool lights and awesome clothes. I would like to thank Bob Packert (Photographer) Lisa Roche (Make-up), Reena (Stylist), Patrick (Camera guy), Al (Our awesome cab driver), also anyone that I may have forgot- Sorry! Fashion and Entertainment

A couple of contests that are going on. The first is the VMAN Ford Model Search. I am definitely going to enter but it’s one of those things that you can’t expect anything from because the competition is FIERCE. However, these are also a great way to get exposure. You never know, you may see one of the people who judge your pictures at a casting one day and you have to hope you make some sort of impression on them. The deadline is Feb 28th and I am going to take pictures sometime next week, when I go into my agency in Boston. Ill be sure to post those pics next week!

Fruit cup and veggie sandwich with pesto sauce, gouda cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce and pickles. Chocolate covered peanuts and two double chocolate cookies. Whole wheat veggie wrap. Shrimp fried rice from NOODLE ST. Half pint of Ben and Jerry’s Dublin Mudslide- this is an improvement I usually eat the whole pint. Fruit smoothie.

The Happenings

New York was a great time. I got in on Thursday and pretty much went straight to dinner with Katie to Dos Caminos on Park Ave. SO GOOD! Then, we went to Max Brenner’s, it was my first time and it was SO GOOD! This weekend consisted of food “so good for the soul but bad for the body.” Thursday night, went out for Pedro’s birthday, with Kayvon, good times!

Friday was a great day! I woke up got some breakfast and went to SOHO for some shopping. I went into Topshop-Topman, and within 11 minutes (I looked at the time) I had probably $1500 worth of stuff. Oh man. So then I had to cut some stuff and my not fitting into any of the pants I brought in made that a lot easier. I got a lot of great stuff and didn’t spend too much, but I am always disappointed when I leave because I can never get everything I want without spending enough money to feed a country. Then I went into LTB, a great little shop that is pretty cheap. I went to meet my friend Derria at Hollister, and we went to Wok to Walk near Union Square. So GOOD! Then we went next doors, to Crumbs! I got the best cookie and cupcake of my life, and wanted so much more. We had some more time to kill so we took our treats to Starbucks and sat and chatted for a while. We did some looking around in Hollister and I got to see some people there. Derria had to work so I continued to shop, before I had to go to the realtor’s office. I went to Atrium. I love this store, but so incredibly expensive, but they had some great shirts on sale that I bought. I lost track of time, so I had to hop on the subway to meet the realtor.

After I met the realtor I had to go see the apartment. Epperson met me and we went to go see it together. The apartment is “funny.”It has a great location (one block from Central Park west), doorman, cheap, utilities included and a nice courtyard. But walking into the apartment, it was dirty. The guy looking for a roommate said he has been renovating and admitted he does not clean the apartment as often as he should. The room is nice, big and overlooks the courtyard. My roommate is an older musician, but seems nice. Here’s the thing, over coffee and discussing the apartment, Epperson was hesitant, so I agreed that I would call the roommate and see if I could bring another friend by in the morning for a second look. I happened to mention in the voice mail that this friend was a realtor, which I think put the roommate off, because he never responded! But I think he’s not used to that because he constantly has different roommates and works through this one agency. But I called the agency and told her I want to get the apartment, because for the price it’s still a good deal. So, now, I have to see if the roommate is comfortable with me moving in. We will see… if it’s not meant to be then it won’t happen!— As I am typing this the realtor called me and said that the roommate doesn’t want to commit to anything just yet “he might have family in the city for the summer.” Bogus excuse, maybe, maybe not… not meant to happen now! It is still early so we will see!

My coffee meeting with Epperson was great and long time coming. We sat in Starbucks for about an hour or so talking fashion, his plans, my plans and everything in between. Picture is above! Pay no attention to how awful I look. It was a long day!

After coffee, we parted ways and I made my way back to my hotel. I was able to rest. For awhile before I was planning on going to The Gates. I went to the lobby of the hotel to use internet, and was pretty much assaulted by a man, but Thank God for Nikki, a friend I made in the lobby who overheard me telling this creep man I am a PR major. She gave me her information as she interns for a fashion PR firm, Williamson PR and Showroom. I want to go into fashion PR so meeting her was a great thing!

I left, slightly uneasy about the weirdo man, and went back to my room. I decided I was hungry and got some pizza, came back and lay in bed. I was supposed to meet at The Gates at 12, but it was bitter cold and I decided I was tired and it was not worth it. So I got a great night sleep instead.

I woke up got some food and made my way in the death cold to the bus. Funny story—As the bus was about to pull away, this man comes up, out of breath from running, and the bus driver lets him get on. About 40 minutes into the ride, this man, who ended up sitting next to me turns and asks where this drops us off. I answer, “South Station.” He claims he doesn’t know it, and turns out he got on the wrong bus and tried to go to Philly. He begs the bus driver to let him get off and the bus driver says he can pull over at a rest stop in another 20 minutes. This man, almost in tears, has his first class at U Penn, to get his graduate degree. But he was supposed to give a presentation. Poor guy, but he got off and I hope he makes it!

I changed up my workout on Tuesday the 2nd. I did box jumps and Squat thrusts, with a 40 pound bar. INTENSE. These types of exercises get your heart rate elevated while working the muscles.

Lastly, my new favorite show is Kelly Cutrone’s show “Kell on Earth.” I would love to work for her, not because she is a BADASS but she is the best at what she does and it’s exactly what I want to do. It is on Mondays, on Bravo at 10pm!
